Genesis – Allan Kardec
Overview: Fifth book of the Spiritist Codification, first published in 1868. It is divided into three main parts:
The first explains Spiritism’s views on the dogma of Creation and related dogmas. Exploring in detail subjects such as ‘God’, ‘good’, ‘evil’, ‘human evolution’, ‘astronomy’ ,and earth sciences as understood in 1868;
The second part deals with the dogma of ‘miracles’, exploring what Spiritism tells us are their true origins and reasons for happening. Going on to dispel the idea of ‘the supernatural’ in any aspect of earthly life;
The third part deals with the concept of ‘future predictions’, its basic impossibility and Christian biblical predictions of the future.

Heaven and Hell – Allan Kardec
Overview: Fourth book of the Spiritist Codification, first published in 1865. It is divided into two parts, named “The Doctrine” and “The Examples”.
The first explains Spiritism’s views on the religious dogmas of Heaven, Hell and related subjects. Exploring in detail subjects such as ‘future life’, ‘fears of death’, ‘myth of eternal punishment’, ‘angels’ and ‘demons’; The second part consists of interviews with discarnated spirits in different stages of evolution, exploring the characteristics of each of their continued existances. Also exploring topics such as suicide and the origins of Earthly trials.
