On the request of Suha Arafat 75, widow of PLO chief Yasser Arafat – Arafat’s body will be exhumed from his tomb in Ramallah (West Bank) on November 27. The body will be tested to find out if he was poisoned by Israelis in a Paris hospital in 2004. After a team of scientists from France, Switzerland and Russia each take samples from Arafat’s remains, the reburial will take less than 24 hours, said Tawfiq Trawi, former Palestinian intelligence chief, who is chairing the Palestinian investigative committee.
The experts will take the sample to their respective countries to be tested for Polonium 210 and possibly other poisonous substances.

The permission to exhume the remains of Arafat was given by the US-Israel backed, Mahmoud Abbas, the ruler of the West Bank whose mandate as the president of Palestinian Authority (PA) expired in January 2009.
