The three leading GOP presidential contenders and President Obama are not doing something un-American by bending backward to receive favors from powerful pro-Israel Jewish lobby groups. Therefore, no one is expecting either of them to be ‘Jewish President’. Interestingly, former Jewish Rep. Abner Mikvaner, did call Barack Obama, to be the first Jewish President in 2008.
However, the pro-Israel Jewish and Christian groups are very much concerned that since Rep. Ron Paul has been endorsed by the Arab-American News, Ron, as President will give priority to Arab interests over Israeli interests in the Muslim East. Israel Lobby, on the other hand, is worried that Ron Paul administration may have more anti-Israel officials as compared to pro-Israel officials in administration under Islamophobes Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich or the current Obama administration.
“Paul has gained notoriety by cautioning against the consequences of the United States’ role as “policeman of the world” several times on the Republican campaign circuit while emphasizing the need for military spending and foreign aid cuts at a time when our money is needed at home more than ever,” says the editorial in the Arab-American News on February 24, 2012.
“Paul has also been the only major Republican candidate to resist the type of anti-Arab, anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant demonization, fear-mongering and pandering to ultra-conservative voters in his party that has become pervasive in the post-9/11 climate, despite continued studies showing that terror threats posed by such groups have been greatly exaggerated coming to light along with polls reaffirming the groups’ affinity for American ideals and patriotism,” adds the editorial.
Jewish groups may be right in their various assumptions about Ron Paul being in the White House. As Abraham Foxman, national Guru of Israel lobby group, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), said last year that all GOP contenders with the exception of Ron Paul, agrees with Israel Lobby’s (AIPAC) views on Israel, Iran, Syria, Hamas and Hizbullah.
Douglas Bloomfield, a writer at the Jewish Week, wrote an Op-Ed in Israel daily the Jerusalem Post on February 22, 2012, titled ‘Washington Watch: Watching the Arab vote’. Bloomfield’s article shows his concern about the popularity of Ron Paul among the Arab minority, 63% of which is first-second-third generation Christians immigrants from Syria and Lebanon. However, as a professional Zionist propagandist he lies about the American Muslim population. He quotes US Muslim population less than 2.6 million. However, based on Muslim and independent sources – there are 7-11 million Muslims in America. On May 31, 1996 – The Los Angeles Times had quoted Israel-Firster, Hillary Clinton, saying: “Islam is the fastest growing religion in America, a guide and pillar of stability for many of our people. There is much that the world can learn from Islam“.
Bloomfield says that unlike most American Jews – Israel is not the highest priority within Arab community in Michigan and elsewhere. They’re more focussed on Syria, Hizbullah and Iran. “Sympathy for the Palestinian cause runs high among Arab-Americans, but it’s not the highest political priority for most of them – not unlike the Jews and Israel,” Bloomfield quotes Cohen, an Arab-American community expert with the Detriot Jewish News.
In other words, Cohen admits that Arab-Americans are more loyal to United states than most Jews living in the US.
