Merry Christmas everyone!
Just to point out, I’m not pushing the Christmas thing to be some sort of religion specific shun everyone else thing. It’s just because I was raised Catholic and most of the people that I know celebrate Christmas, so it is in me to only really KNOW Christmas and go along with those celebrations. I am not a religious person, I think there is merit to ALL religions.
Personally, I don’t see why we celebrate such a holiday based on what I believe to be mistruths mashed together to make a story that becomes religious fact, but that’s my views on it and no one else has to have the same views that I have. We are all entitled to each our own opinions and beliefs.
Really, the thing I don’t like most about Christmas is the stuck thinking of being nice to people ONLY during this time of year. Why can’t we be just as kind during the rest of the year? Really, we SHOULD be. The “Christmas Spirit” should be year round, and we should not be so stuck on having to buy into the commercialism of the holiday either. Be happy being with each other, during these holidays as well as the rest of the year. Be thankful for all that you have, and don’t be in the mindset of “I need more”. Love one another, not because it is Christmas, but because you love each other; and if you don’t REALLY love or even like each other, that’s ok, but you should still be kind to those you don’t like or avoid them altogether. (It CAN be done, I do it all the time, lol!)
You don’t have to have money to have a wonderful Christmas, you just need to have love. Even if that means that you love yourself. Not everyone has family or friends to spend their holidays with, or even any other time of year, and a lot of times it makes them extra lonely and sad. But, if you are one of those people who is alone, as long as you have love for yourself, you have love and you are worth something to someone. Heck, I don’t know you, but you are worth something in my book!
Let’s spread the joys of the season throughout the whole year and beyond. Let’s see how far we can spread the kindness and the love to and for others. Who’s with me?
Again, not to discriminate, but Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate, and to those that don’t (and of course this message goes for those that do), may your days and nights be blessed with love and laughter regardless of what time of year this is for others.
Be safe out there, there are a lot of people traveling this time of year! Lots of people drinking too! Be safe, be well, be happy; you are loved!
