Last week, Iranian President Dr. Ahmadinejad presented to the Majlis (parliament) his administration’s draft of the national budget for the country’s new fiscal year begining March 20, 2012. The proposed budget of $416 billion is 14% less than the last calendar year budget of $484 billion. The budget projects a 8% national growth (7.3% in the current year) based on an average oil price of $85 per barrel ($116.65 on Feb. 7).

The funding for running the government has been decreased by 5.6% but the defense budget shows an increase of 127% – while the government’s tax revenues have been envisaged to rise by 20%.

The proposed increase in Iran’s defense has sent a shiver through the Zionist regime and its Hasbara outlets in the western world. Iran’s (pop. 70 million) current defense budget stands a little over $6 billion which will make it over $13 billion in the new year. It’s still far less than Israel’s (pop. 6.2 million) defense budget of $18 billion including $3 billion annual US military aid, US (pop. 303 million) military budget of $698 billion and Saudi Arabia’s (pop. 26.2 million) $60 billion.

However sirens are sounding alarm from every direction. Benji Netanyahu is certainly going to flag Iran’s increased defense budget during his coming speech at AIPAC Foreign Policy annual conference next month - in order to milk a few more billion dollars out of American taxpayers.

The Islamic Republic is surrounded by more than 45 US military bases ‘ in Israel, Turkey, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Jordan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkenistan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan – but it’s Tehran which is threatening US-Israel!

Patrick J. Buchanan in his Feb. 7 article, entitled ‘Who Wants War With Iran?‘, exposed the real evildoers. He said that neither Barack Obama administration nor Ahmadinejad government or Ayatullah Khamenei want war between US and Iran. “It’s the Netanyahu government and its echo chamber in US politics and media, the neoconservatives, members of Congress, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum,” wrote Buchanan.
