Yemeni intelligence has arrested Abraham al-Deri, an Israeli citizen in the southern province of Taiz, allegedly being a member of Israeli Mossad. The man has visited Israel and several Arab countries with a faked passport under Muslim name Abdullah Muhsan al-Himi al-Siari, Reuters quoted official source as saying.
He has been brought to Aden, where following an investigation by the criminal prosecutor, he was charged with being an agent working for Israeli Mossad. His case is expected to be referred to Aden’s criminal court in the near future, Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported on January 4.
Sky news in Arabic has reported that he has confessed to be an Israeli citizen and being head of an Israeli espionage network in Yemen.
Based on previous record involving Israeli and American citizen involved in espionage network in Yemen – I doubt very much if Abraham al-Deri will serve jail in Yemen. He will be shipped out of country with the help of US embassy in Aden and the blame would be shifted to Al-Qaeda network which has a good record of working for CIA, Mossad and MI6 in order to demonize Muslims.
