“I think it’s a great commentary on American political life when a person who happens to be Jewish is mentioned as a possible presidential candidate,” said Rabbi Joseph Potasnik of the New York Board of Rabbis in 2007.
In March 2012 – Fred Karger 61, the openly Republican Jewish gay politician – announced his candidacy for the 2012 Presidential election.
The US Green Party has nominated Jill E. Stein 62, a physician, as party’s candidate for the November 3 Presidential Election. Stein has a good social platform, better than Obama and Romney – but some of her statements have already raised alarms among the Jewish lobby groups. She supports the Jew hating Occupy Wall Street movement, pro-Israel gay and lesbian groups, legalization of marijuana, etc. But she also criticizes some of Israeli policies (assassinations, apartheid wall, religious and ethnic racism, illegal Jewish settlements, denuclearization, release of Arab prisoners, etc.). She believes in the recognition of the right of self-determination for both Israelis and Palestinians. However, she addresses the parties in Israel-Palestine conflict as “Israel, PA and Hamas”. She wants Palestinians to abandon armed resistance and put their trust in the US and Israel.
“The United States has encouraged the worst tendencies of the Israeli government as it pursues policies of occupation, apartheid, assassination, illegal settlements, blockades, building of nuclear bombs, indefinite detention, collective punishment, and defiance of international law. Instead of allying with the courageous proponents of peace within Israel and Palestine, our government has rewarded consistent abusers of human rights. There is no peace or justice or democracy at the end of such a path. We must reset US policy regarding Israel and Palestine, as part of a broader revision of US policy towards the Middle East,” said Jill in her May 15 statement.

In the past, there has never been an open Jewish President. However, there have been several ‘hidden’ Jewish Presidents. For example, America’s 16th President Abraham Lincoln (1861-1865). Isaac Markens in his 1909 book ‘Abraham Lincoln and the Jews’ and Professor Elizabeth C. Hirschman with Melungeons Jewish roots, in her 2005 DNA research – have claimed that Abraham Lincoln had Jewish ancestry. Hirschman in her latest book ‘Star, Crescent, Cross: Jews and Muslims in colonial America‘ has claims that a large number of early American settlers were of Sephardic Jewish, Ashkenazic Jewish (from Europe and Spain) – and Muslim (both North African and Ottoman) origin. The other US presidents with Jewish ancestry were Jefferson, Roosevelts and Eisenhower, who in the West Point yearbook picture was dubbed “IKE the terrible Swedish Jew“.
On June 16, 2012, the New York Times claimed that the First Lady, Michelle Obama’s DNA proved that she has Jewish ancestry. Michelle’s cousin Capers Funnye is Chief Rabbi of the Beth Shalom B’nai Zaken Ethiopean Hebrew congregation in Chicago – one of the largest Black Jewish Synagogues in America. For Barack Obama mother’s possible Jewish roots, read here.
When Senator Barack H. Obama was campaigning for the White House, former Jewish Congressman and judge from Chicago, Abner Mikvaner, had said: “I think when it is all over, people are going to say that Barack Obama is the first Jewish President”.
American journalist and New York Times best-selling author, Jim Marrs, in his book ‘Rule by Secrecy’ has claimed that a majority of US presidents were Crypto-Jews (Freemasons).
