Last month, Turkey blocked Israel’s participation in NATO’s upcoming Chicago summit in a sign of its determination to keep the Zionist entity from using NATO to its expansionist agenda. The 2-day Chicago summit which is hosted by Barack Obama is due to be held on May 20-21.
Turkish foreign minister Ahmet Davutoğlu reminded the NATO members in Brussels earlier that Turkey was a country that rescued citizens of other NATO member countries who were detained by Israel during the Mavi Marmara raid. “Go and tell Israel to apologize for the incident and to pay compensation for the Turkish citizens whom it massacred“. Like the United States, Israel too has the record for not apologizing for its crimes.
Turkey has also threatened to block European Union to attend the summit unless Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is allowed to be present. Ankara position is that only NATO member nations leaders should be allowed to attend organization’s summit meetings.
Irish Journalist David Cronin in his book, ‘Europe’s Alliance with Israel: Aiding the occupation‘, has claimed that Israel has become a member state of the European Union in all but name.
In November 2011 – Pakistan boycotted NATO’s conference on Afghanistan in Bonn for similar reason. Islamabad had demanded Washington’s apology for NATO’s killing 24 Pakistani soldiers on Pakistan’s territory. As a result, Pakistan cut crucial NATO supply lines through its territory to Afghanistan.
Iran’s foreign minister Ali Akbar Salehi attended the Bonn summit last year at the invitation of Afghan president Hamid Karzai.
On Friday NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, to a question, said in Brussels that Pakistan had not been invited to the NATO Summit in Chicago. Rasmussen also pitched for the immediate re-opening of the Ground Lines of Communication (GLOC) into Afghanistan, hinting that this was the reason no invitation had landed at the Presidency in Islamabad.
Zionist Sen. John Kerry (his both grandparents were Jewish) has also warned Islamabad that it would not be invited to attend the NATO Chicago summit unless it reopen the supply routes.
However, Pakistani sources say that Pakistan’s president Asif Ali Zardari has received a personal invitation from Barack Obama via Obama’s special envoy for Pakistan-Afghanistan, Zionist Jew Marc Grossman, to attend the NATO summit. Zardari is expected to be accompanied by Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Perez Kayani.
Hillary Clinton’s Jewish spokeswoman, Victoria Nuland, has confirmed receiving a letter signed by several Israel-Firster lawmaker – demanding that State Department classify Haqqani group a terrorist network to put more pressure on Pakistan.
Kabul University political science professor Faizullah Jalal says that designating Haqqani as a terrorist group will further deteriorate the situation. “If the demand made by the US congressmen is approved, it could very well deteriorate the situation in the region. They could create problems for US presence in Afghanistan and the region“.
Pakistan’s tribal-based Haqqani group is named after its leader, Maulvi Jalaludin Haqqani, one of Mujahideen leaders who fought against Russian occupation forces. Haqqani was, reportedly, among the Afghan Mujahideen leaders recieved at the White House by then president Ronald Reagan, who said they reminded him of the “Fathers of the United States“.
Both Islamabad and Tehran know that as Afghanistan’s major neighboring countries – US-NATO cannot achieve victory or withdrawal without their cooperation.
